Real Madrid's Marcelo suffers muscle contraction in left thigh
Madrid, Nov 5 (EFE) .- Real Madrid's Brazilian left back Marcelo Vieira, who was injured in Tuesday's Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain, suffers a "muscle contraction in his left thigh," the Spanish club announced on Thursday in a statement on its official website.
"Following the tests carried out on Marcelo in the Sanitas la Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with a muscle contraction in his left thigh,' the statement said.
"His recovery will continue to be assessed," the statement noted.
The 30-year-old Brazilian international had to leave the field during Tuesday's match after 33 minutes as he felt discomfort in his thigh.
Marcelo will miss Sunday's La Liga match against Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.
